Environmental Stewardship

We at Schildberg Construction Company, Inc. believe environmental stewardship is an important responsibility.  Managing water quality is on of our greatest tasks.  All of our quarries are governed under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).  Each has at least one and some have two NPDES Permits.  Links to these permits can be found below.

At the Iowa facilities storm water discharge is regulated by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources NPDES General Permit Number 3.  The applicable Iowa facilities that discharge pump water are also regulated by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources NPDES General Permit Number 5.

The Graham Quarry in Missouri is regulated under the Missouri Department of Natural Resources NPDES MO-G49 permit.

Sites with a storm water (NPDES) permit are required to develop, initiate, and maintain a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).  All sites regulated by these permits require regular storm water inspections to assess the effectiveness of the site’s SWPPP.  All regular inspections known as “Annual Comprehensive Site Evaluations” have been completed for 2017.
